| Comments: | I only come for trivia, but it's one of my favorite trivia places, and I'm not sure if this is despite of or because of its quirks.
First, there is a lot of seating. This is key for trivia. You may still have to come a bit early if you want to snag a spot for a good sized group, but it's definitely doable. Second, the trivia questions are printed out on sheets of paper as opposed to being read aloud. There are pros and cons to this. I'm a much more visual than auditory person, so I like being able to see things written down. But there's probably less group discussion than other trivia nights. On the other hand, you can accommodate bigger groups because you can just pass the sheets around and only discuss the ones that nobody is sure of at the end. I'm a big fan of the logic puzzles/word games (varies each week) at the end. More bars should incorporate this into their trivia. The owner/trivia host is this Irish guy who slurs his words and awkwardly hits on whoever the poor girl is who has been roped into helping read the trivia answers that night. However, it is amazing how sharp he is with the answers despite the drunkenness - he pretty much has them all memorized. Love him or hate him, he definitely lends a unique character to the night. And finally, great prizes. You either get $50 off your bill for the night or a free round of drinks for everybody (which can be a lot if you have a big group). The first time we won, we opted for the round of drinks at first, but then changed our minds and told the waitress we just wanted the money off since we were leaving soon. We somehow ended up getting both, which was pretty sweet. Pretty fun for a Wednesday night. |
